Zeke + Julie’s engagement session came together amidst less than ideal circumstances. They reached out to me about a week before the date of their engagement session, after plans fell through with their previous photographer. They had already taken off work and scheduled hair and makeup for this specific date, and of course, the weather predicted a high chance of rain all day. The location we originally chose didn’t have water access from land, so the morning of, we changed locations and decided to make the almost 2 hour drive to Rock Springs. Minutes after I arrived, the sky turned gloomy and raindrops started to fall.
On paper, it sounds terrible… I know. BUT, somehow all of the mismatched, imperfect pieces of the day came together to create something so raw and beautiful. The deep blue color of the springs, their water marked clothing, and the subtle movement the raindrops added to the surface of the water. It was perfection.
We explored all the beautiful rock formations, walked down long narrow bridges and stood beneath towering palm trees and greenery. We ditched the umbrellas for lots of twirling and sweet embrace. Zeke + Julie have an adventurous spirit that led them straight into the water. And it led me to some of my very favorite photos to date! The way he held her out of the water, wet clothes clinging to their skin, rain drops falling all around them. It was so romantic. Something like a real life movie scene.
Zeke + Julie, I’m so glad that you reached out to me and trusted me to bring your vision to life! There wasn’t an ounce of sunshine, and it drizzled the entire time, but what came out was so uniquely beautiful!!! I hope you love your photos! Have fun tying the knot in Mexico ❤️❤️ ❤️
