Outdoor Newborn | Inverness Lake

FILED IN: Newborn

It was a chilly, overcast day. The sun hid behind the clouds and created a pretty gray haze over everything. There were no boats out on the water (for obvious reasons haha) so the lake was still, and the water looked like steel blue glass. Cypress trees grew tall around the edge of the lake, branches hung down low with moss. And you could hear the sound of white Ibis calling and foraging together on the shoreline near the dock. Little Candon was dressed in a cute pair of overalls, but you would never know it because he was kept safely swaddled in a warm blanket for the entire morning! It may not have been what any of us had in mind for a newborn session, but I love the cozy, snuggly feel the blanket and cold weather brought to their pictures!

Rex is a welder who travels often for work, while Mallory is a fourth grade teacher here in Citrus County. Rex and Mallory knew of each other through mutual friends for a while, before one day running into each other at the bathrooms of a local tractor pull. Rex jokes that she blew him off at first, as she was there meeting a friend that day and didn’t pay him much attention at first. But she ended up texting him later that day, and the two got together and never looked back since! Now, here they are a year later with a precious baby boy! He was born very early in the morning on November 30, weighing 7 lbs 8 oz and 20 inches long. It is obvious just by the way Mallory holds Candon, how very loved he already is. And Rex, equally as excited in his role of new father! Just when it seems life couldn’t get any better for these two lovebirds… on Christmas morning, Rex proposed!!! Mallory sure has her hands and her heart full as she cares for her baby boy and plans a wedding for March of 2019.

Rex and Mallory, I am so grateful that you chose me as your photographer and I was able to capture some of your first photos as a family of three. Little Candon is so precious and he’s lucky to have the two of you for parents. I wish you much love and happiness and the best of luck in planning your wedding ♥
