Family Session under the Oaks | Inverness, FL

FILED IN: Family

Brandon and Casey are another one of my favorite couples who I’ve had the pleasure of photographing in the past! After doing their maternity session last year it was such a blessing to finally meet their sweet boy, Logan! This little guy has baby blue eyes and THE coolest head of hair you’ve ever seen. His fluffy blonde locks look almost as if he just came down a slide with a lot of static electricity, only there was no slide in sight and his hair stands up on end like that all the time! Seriously, can’t handle the cuteness 😍

Anyone with children knows that things rarely go as planned, especially when something important (like family portraits) are on the agenda! Sure the golden sun and mossy covered oak trees make everything look perfect, but behind all the pretty pictures there is always a story to be told. We already had to reschedule our session a couple of times due to rainy weather, when earlier that day Casey + Brandon were out at lunch and Logan bumped his head pretty hard on the wooden bench of a booth! Poor thing! 😢 Casey went on to tell me the story of how it looked so terrible and swollen that they almost were going to reschedule again but thankfully, chose to wait it out (**and by the time I met them that evening you could hardly even tell he had a bump). Meanwhile, Brandon who had been changing Logan’s diaper alerted us that he had had a blowout and that his pants were no longer usable! I am so thankful for easy-going people like Brandon and Casey because we continued on (pantless 😂) to get some really beautiful photos. Little Logan was so cute in just his blue jean button up and diaper, that I now can’t imagine their family portraits looking any other way! I find that there is so much beauty in the “imperfect” details. Those kind of last minute changes that, although not intended, bring warm memories of moments spent together for years to come. ❤️
