Honey Moon Island Engagement

FILED IN: Engagement

I first met Mike + Anna in a coffee shop where we met to talk about their wedding and see if we would be a good fit for each other. From almost the moment I sat down, I know they were the kind of people I wanted to work with. Their personalities were warm and friendly, and the connection between them was obvious . The way that Mike looked at Anna, pulled out her chair and beamed with love when he talked about their relationship was infectious. They first met while working nights with each other as critical care nurses at Tampa General. Mike was super into Anna, but she didn’t take him seriously and wanted nothing to do with him at first. But Mike persisted and after nearly a year of being friends she said she finally came to her senses and realized she was in love with this man. It turns out he was the real deal… and continues to shower Anna with love and compliments long after “he got the girl” . So much so that she didn’t even realize he was proposing until he got down on one knee, simply because he always tells her how much he loves and appreciates heron a regular basis. 😭❤️

As if they weren’t perfect enough already, when I asked where they would be getting married Anna told me that they would be having their ceremony and reception at the Homosassa Wildlife Park and asked if I had ever heard about it before? Heard about it- YES!?! I actually grew up in Homosassa and live just minutes away from the park now. We all laughed about Lucifer the Hippo and the kismet turn of events. I feel that we could not have been more perfect match and I am so excited to photograph their wedding in my hometown!

When it came time for their engagement session, I thought it only fit that I meet them somewhere closer to where they live. Mike + Anna liked the idea of the beach at sunset, so we decided upon Honeymoon Island! The temperature had just dropped and it FINALLY felt like fall here in Florida. We started out on a nature trail, taking a couple of photos nestled in the pine trees, and the weather was absolutely perfect. But when it came time for us to head out onto the open shoreline, we were greeted with some pretty strong winds! It made for some pretty interesting conditions… with 20 mph wind gusts that would cover both mine and Anna’s face in a blanket of hair!!! haha But the “rough” conditions created the beautiful waves and cloud filled sky that was so stunning in the end. And the wind picked up Anna’s hair and tousled it around her face in a way that makes the images feel so fluid and real. Stunning, absolutely stunning. That’s all I can say about these two and their engagement session.💙       Honeymoon Island Couple standing in the waves Honey Moon Island Engagement Ring
